Spizzico Italian Kitchen | Arnold, MD

We checked out Spizzico Italian Kitchen in Arnold, MD because it was one of the recommended pizza joints on Reddit for the county. We ordered the Detroit Pizza with pepperoni, pineapple, and anchovy (don't worry about our toppings), a Chicken Caesar slice, and Garlic Knots.

The Chicken Caesar slice was alright. The chicken was dry but the bread crumbs it was coated in were very crispy. It came with no sauce and instead was drizzled with Caesar dressing which was just definitely from a bottle, cheese, and shards of Parmesan. I do think they could have topped it with lettuce after if came out the oven. That's how I've had chicken Caesar slices in the past and it definitely adds something. The crust was pillowy and the pizza was foldable but it really didn't have a great flavor.

The garlic knots were soft but very plain. They definitely needed more butter and garlic. They were more like rolls they were so bland. The marinara dipping sauce that came with it was good because it added some flavor but the sauce was very sweet and interestingly it was different from the sauce that came on the pizza.

Speaking of pizza, the Detroit Pizza was...nothing I would be returning for. The crust was thick but they really skimped on the sauce. I know it's sauce lines on top, that's the style, but there really didn't taste like there was any sauce on it. Again, the flavor wasn't great.

Overall it was just a really subpar pizza place. If you live in the area and want some pizza, sure, it will satisfy your craving, but I would not recommend driving any distance for this.
