We stopped at Mission BBQ for a quick bite and I'm very glad we did! I had eaten here years ago at a different location and didn't remember it being quite so good. Perhaps it was the time that passed or maybe it has to do with the location.

We got the Brisket Sandwich and NC Style Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and banana pudding for dessert. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, so flavorful that no sauce was needed. However, if you did want sauce, there are six out on the table you can choose from. We ordered the pulled pork NC Style which meant it comes with cole slaw on it. The cole slaw was chopped to a good size for a sandwich. The brisket was also very tender and the buns the sandwiches were served on were soft and potentially made in house based on the taste.

The mac and cheese was very good. It was creamy with a crunch from the breadcrumbs. The portion of mac and cheese was a little small I thought but the amount of meat on the sandwiches more than made up for that.

The banana pudding, which was a seasonal item, was delicious! They didn't use nilla wafers, perhaps a homemade shortbread cookie, but they were still crunchy unlike the normally soggy cookies you get as they soak up the pudding. I think they might assemble it as you order to keep the crunch.

Besides the food, the service there was amazing. I have a newborn and when they called my order, the boy behind the counter offered to bring my food to the table for me. Our trays were also cleared off by, I believe the manager, and doors were held open when we walked through them at a similar time to an employee. The bathrooms were also super clean. Whoever the manager is there is doing a great job.

No mention is made of anything being organic, pasture raised, or grass fed.

As for their sustainability, we ate in and didn't get takeout, so I'm not sure how it gets packaged, but the meals are served on metal trays lined with paper and the sides come in a plastic container.
